OPK line test. Can you dip too long?

Ok, so the OPK line test that I have (the cheapy online ones) says to dip the tip into the urine for 3 seconds. Is it bad if I dip it longer. Like 5 seconds or does that not really make a difference? The reason I ask is because I normally dip for 5 seconds and I swear my test line is just as dark as the control but then I use a digital and its negative. Today, I dip for only 3 seconds and the test line was lighter than the control, which made sense. So, is it really bad to dip the stick for longer than 3 seconds...will an extra 2 seconds really make that big of a difference?

Are they the ones in the pink package? I also do 5 seconds. When I noticed a darker line, I used the CBE smiley test. I did get a nice smile! So, I would say that it really makes no difference between 3 and 5 seconds.

Re: OPK line test. Can you dip too long?

i think there was a prominent warning on mine NOT to dip it for more than 3 seconds bc it could alter the results...

then again, i never got a positive either (i posted pics last week) but definitely O'd already.

so to answer your question... i have no idea. Chat Icon

i'm gonna go with follow the instructions. Chat Icon

Yep. Now that I look at it it is a pale green color.

ETA: There is no warning on mine not to exceed the 3 seconds though. It does say not to immense past the max line though.
