OPK Qs...

*What does OPK stand for?
*How many days do you get the surge (2 lines) from an ovulation sticks? Or should you stop testing after you got the initial surge?
*After you get the surge, you should expect for your temps to go up within 1-3 days, right?

I just got the internet LH detecting cheapies yesterday, and I was wondering the Qs above. As soon as I took a test, I saw two lines... and this am, again two lines.

What do u think?
TIA!

PS: For the record, I'm trying out the sticks, not TTC this month... so with them, I'll know when DH should stay away! Chat Icon

Re: OPK Qs...

OPK stands for Ovulation Predictor Kit

The surge is not when you get two lines, the surge (on most tests) is when the test line is AS dark or DarkER than the control line.

I get two days worth of positive results, however you should count the first day as your peak.

Re: OPK Qs...

So when testing, two lines always show on the OPK sticks?

Both yesterday & today, the test line was darker than the control line.... does that mean it's positive? Sorry for my ignorance in the topic Chat Icon.

Re: OPK Qs...

most of the time you will get two lines (depending on how much LH your body produces)
If the test line (usually left line) was darker than the control line (usually right side) then you should be ovulating within the next 12-36 hours.
