OPK Surge Line
Does the line get darker when you get closer to ovulation or there is no relationship? Basically does a light line indicate you're not going to ovulation soon.

Re: OPK Surge Line
I am unsure if there is a standard because all tests vary, but I have noticed that from the time I begin testing (a few days prior to when I think I will ovulate) until the positive surge, the line gradually gets darker - meaning the test line, the one that is supposed to be as dark as or darker than the control line. Hope that makes sense.

Re: OPK Surge Line
It makes sense. I've been using First Response. Not the answer I wanted because I noticed the line went lighter the past few days (it was darker but never darker than the reference line) so I never got a positive. Now I'm afraid I won't be ovulating According to the ovulation calculator I should have ovulated on Monday.

Re: OPK Surge Line
Every test varies. I relied on Answer for a long time, but went back to the dollar tree tests. Did you notice any EWCM?

Re: OPK Surge Line
I think every test and every person varies. There are days that I have a darker line than others. I can have a almost non-existent line one day, and then test positive the next day.
This is why I use the digital tests, takes the guess work out of it.

Re: OPK Surge Line
It is possible that you missed detecting your surge. I know that one month I tested at my usual 5pm and the line was not as dark as the control yet. I decided to do another OPK that night at 11pm and it was super dark! I must have caught the very beginning of the surge! If I hadn't done that and just waited until the next night to test as usual, I could have missed it.

This is exactly why I went to digital. I tested for one month with the strips and hated interpreting the lines.
Do you test every day at the same time?

Re: OPK Surge Line
Before my calculated O date I was seeing EWCM but the line was definitely lighter than the reference line. I do test the same time every day. We're just starting to TTC and I got the OPKs to see if I was understanding my body. Now I'm just not sure

The Answer (mid-stream) tests that I use do.
