OPK troubles (long but I need advice)
Yesterday was CD 10 for me (my first cycle after my m/c). I was so excited to start TTC again.
I did a 3 hour hold, but my OPK control line was almost nonexistant. I thought it was a dud, so I used the same urine (I pee in a cup) and the same thing happened. Today (CD 11) I used one and the control line was sooo faint, I could hardly see it. How am I supposed to know when I get a positive if I can't even see the control line?
I don't think it's a bad batch of tests b/c I used the same box (it's a 50 pack) the month I got my BFP (June). The control line was much darker then. They don't expire until 5/2010.
Could it be my hormones? What do you think I should do?

I had the same problem... so when I mentioned it to my Dr. he said to use CBE Digitals... there's no deciphering of any lines - just wait for the circle or the

ya see - it can go either way with this....
40 bucks for me was just too much to spend month after month after month...
Metsgirl and i always talk about this...
i prefer the lined tests because i can see the progression of my O time... It goes from no line, to a light line to a DARK line...
I kinda like seeing that whole thing and knowing when it's on the way....

Re: OPK troubles (long but I need advice)
I did a three hour hold last time I used them too.
I wanted to start on CD 10 b/c my cycle varies from 30-33 days and I had no idea what would happen this cycle b/c I just had a miscarraige.
I like using the lines for the same reason as Jess, seeing the progressionvof the lines. The digital ones are so expensive.
I don't know what I should do- I don't want to miss my fertile time b/c of this.
Do you think it's related in any way to my hormones? Or is that just crazy thinking? (Maybe I should have my DH pee on one to see if a control line comes up!)

i am thinking that its because its still early and you are not near your surge.. dont forget after a MC your cycles and O date could be alot different.. so maybe just keep taking them , thinking you will get the surge later... AND make sure you BD every other day.. you cant go wrong there.. if you still dont get a positive from the tests, i would use different ones next time, OR call the company to tell them you think its faulty

Baby Creation
I don't have the paperwork for it anymore and when I google it, a million other unrelated things come up.
I think I'll keep watching it, maybe BD every other day for good measure. Last time, the control line was dark at CD 11. That's why I'm so confused. I saved the old ones in a ziplock and there is a definite difference this time around. It's so wierd. They weren't exposed to heat, humidity, moisture, or anything like that. It's so strange.

Re: OPK troubles (long but I need advice)
Hey Girlie... Your hormone levels may be a little crazy still. Keep testing once a day.. dont give up and Im sure a control line and a surge line will eventually appear this month. Your pee pee is fine... it will appear in time. Good things happen to those who wait! Love u.. and dont waste energy stressing.. it will cause your cycle to get nutzy.xoxoxoxoxo I will bring u one of my opk sticks tomorrow to work- so you can try my brand when u get home. Just to see if there is a difference.
