Or those of you who are Chinese (and possibly others)... Re: getting invite printed

A coworker of mine is getting married. She is Chinese. She bought a kit to make her own invites. She plans on using her printer and do them in English, however, she needs to have it printed in Chinese on the back. She has no idea how to do this.

Do any of you know a place that may be able to do this for her? She lives in queens and can not spend a lot of money.

I would contact a chinese newspaper or magazine and ask them to point her in the right direction.

If she's printing it herself in English, why can't she print it herself in chinese? She can download a program that'll allow her to write in chinese.

It's going to be hard to find all the chinese character fonts you need unless you have a Chinese keyboard...

The next option is to find places in Flushing or Chinatown that does wedding invites who are also willing to help her print.

I don't know any offhand but if you do a lookup for printing shops in those areas, you'll find them....

I had a heck of a time finding someone in NYC to do them. I ended up finding a printer in San Francisco.

Good Luck!

ETA: I had to have his mother help me with a few words and let her proof it to be sure it was right before we sent them for print. Given that some words don't translate (like my father's name and the location, etc) And there were about 3 ways to write my husband's last name in Chinese. PS: It wasn't THAT expensive honestly. Only issue *I* had was my RSVP was also chinese/english so his family answered in Chinese. LOL I couldn't figure it out. So I kept the 'trees' by the trees and the 'houses with two sticks' together Chat Icon

A few more photos of my invite from LIW

My wedding invite was also in Chinese and English.
My mom went to a place in Flushing and asked to see sample invites. They gave her a sample wording with our actual names, wedding venue and all on a peice of paper. I gave the sample to a friend who can do pinyin and she typed everything in Microsoft word and I printed it myself.
I did 2 separate invites, one in English and one in Chinese. That might be easier than printing double sided.

Thanks for the info!! I am going to pass it along. If you caab find the name of the place used in flushing, that would help a ton!
