Organizing toys in a playroom
We are going out to buy storage for ds's playroom....if you have shelves, do you have regular bookshelves or those cute cubby bookshelves? DS is only 9 months and i am not quite sure how big his future toys will be. Or do you just have shelves on the wall? Thanks!

Re: Organizing toys in a playroom
we have a toybox and a wagon that we "throw" stuff in.
Nothing is organized. I tried putting things neatly in bins, however DD can open them up and throws the toys whereever for now.

Re: Organizing toys in a playroom
We have a toy box & a storage container but nothing is organized either. Everything is just thrown in them because DS keeps pulling things out and putting things away.

Re: Organizing toys in a playroom
I found the toys get smaller as they get older for the most part - besides big stuff like kitchens, rideon, wrok benches, etc. So my needs for toy storage for the baby are different than my 3 year old.
In our play room - I have a toy chest and a bookshelf with a bin on the bottom and an entertainment center. I also have cubbies in my family room and I love them (Land of Nod). They hold much more than they look like they would and they match my family room (espresso brown).

Re: Organizing toys in a playroom
I have this on one side of my playroom. It's a three level shelf. And, then the toy bin on wheels. I also have (not shown) two Pottern Barn big canvas bags.
Right now - I don't have bins for the shelves but I find that his toys are bigger now so I don't have many small things. Down the road I prob. will get the bins to put cars and stuff in.
The canvas bags are filled with the bigger toys so they are out of my sight and not driving me crazy! Image Attachment(s):
