Other people buying Halloween costumes for DC question

Both my mother and Connor's godmother bought him Halloween costumes this year without asking me. I feel obligated to use their costumes now when they aren't ones that I would have chosen for him. DH's favorite holiday is Halloween and he always comes up with a creative idea (last year they were both Snoopy).

I don't know how to say I don't want to use the costumes without seeming ungrateful, but I really feel it's something that I should be getting for him.

Am I wrong to feel this way?

Nothing wrong with you wanting to do your thing..

Make it a halloween weekend.. put him in those other costumes as well and take pics and send them to your mom and his godmother thanking him.

This happened to me too. I told MIL DS was going to be a monkey for Halloween and the next day she bought him a costume, which is NOT the one I want. I told DH that I am still getting the one I want but when we go to IL's house we will just use the one they bought him.

I have the same problem. MIL bought 2 costumes without asking. I had one picked out so I ordered it and will tell MIL they didn't fit.
