Our Adoption Update
Hi Ladies -- It has been a while since I have updated on our adoption process....we are still in the Waiting Stages....we have been Logged into China since July 1st, 2006....we are now ready to re-do our fingerprints---we might still be waiting for another 18 to 24 months....it is very sad all this waiting...for all of us who joined this Adoption post as the same time---I am still waiting, ---although, last week we visited with the Adoption Attorney in Woodbury.....to do a domestic adoption. I am now trying to decide if we should stay with the China and also add in the domestic. We don't have to have another homestudy or any other clearances, so that is a plus, but I still can't decide if we should leave well enough alone or jump on this. I think we should make the attempt because waiting another 18-24 months is a long wait on the 18months we just waited...if anyone knows of anyone that might be considering finding an adoptive couple --please keep us in mind...I know in the end it will be worth the wait----

Re: Our Adoption Update
Hey Sandra : )
The China wait is getting crazy and I think looking into domestic or another country is a great option. Good luck with your decision! You know that China now is allowing concurrent adoptions so even if you do end up adopting domestically or with another country you could also keep your China referral when it finally arrives!
Also, not sure if your even interested in it but alot of families I know who are LID are going the Special Needs route. Many of the children have mild issues (like a cleft lip) and are very correctable. Our agency just listed about 15 children this month alone.
The wait kinda of put the stop on us getting a sibling for Sophia since if I started now it will probably be a 6 year wait!
Speak to you soon!

Re: Our Adoption Update
Oh Sandra, I am so happy you posted. I was searching for your email address yesterday bc mine changed and I lost all of my contacts. I didn't think to FM you on here to check in. I cannot believe you are still waiting. I cannot even begin to imagine the frustration you must be undergoing. I am happy you are taking steps to move forward with another adoption. I think you should proceed with both if you can swing it financially and then have one big beautiful family all at once. Please know I'm here for you if you need to vent.
