Our April baby decided to arrive a little early
Vincent John arrived on March 22 weighing 7 lbs, 9 oz - via c section! He is an absolute angel!! I was in labor and delivery wed night because I had a stomach virus come on out of no where. By that point I was 2 cm dialated but my ob got the vomitting under control and felt comfortable sending me home. On thursday, DH stayed home from work to take care of me. I was on antibiotics and was running a low grade fever. Ladies, if I can share anything from my experience - NEVER EVER question your instincts. Thursday afternoon, I just had a feeling I needed to be checked out because the baby wasn't moving around as much as normal. My ob had me come into his office to put me on nst and we were seeing that whenever I would have a small contraction the baby's heart rate would drop a bit. My ob didn't want to take any chances so he sent me right over to mercy and our beautiful little boy was born via c-section. His heart rate is great and he was put in the nicu because he was breathing a little heavy at birth. But that cleared right up. He then needed to stay because his glucose numbers dropped a bit. But even that has stabled out and hopefully, today, he'll be out of the nicu and in with me. With any luck, we'll go home on Sunday. I'm a bit sore but doing ok so far.
If any of you are delivering at mercy, you're going to love it! Every single nurse and staff member has been amazingly nice, informative and patient. The food is actually pretty good as well! So that's my quick birth story. I'm going to try to post a pic of him but I'm not sure if it will work bc I'm on my phone. Hope all of you are feeling well!

Congratulations!!!! Can't wait to see pictures!! Emily was in the NICU when she was born also for rapid breathing and then high bilirubin levels. He will do great!! All the best to you guys!
