Our baby boy is legendary... Lol
It's funny and scary at the same time... Each time we go to the doctors (doctors who deal with a LOT of babies), they are shocked at how big this kid is getting. Yesterday, he was weighing in at 9 pounds!!!! The staff at both offices know how big this kid is and everyone jokes and blames my 6'2" DH, who stands there already like the proud dad . The baby is gaining 1.8oz/day! I said that when my DH asked me out 8 years ago, my first question should have been "How much did you weigh at birth?". When he said 9lbs14oz, I should have declined!
I'm 38 weeks today. I haven't dilated any more. In fact, oddly enough, my OB said I was 2cm last week, but yesterday said I wasn't dilated and only 70% effaced. He feels it would be in mine and baby's best interest to schedule my c-section for a week from Saturday. So, unless our boy has other plans, his birthday may be August 13!
Last night, I was so uncomfortable and my DH said "Just one more week..." Sounds so weird to hear that!

Re: Our baby boy is legendary... Lol
I have had 2 10+ pound babies and this one is heading to that range as well. #2 was 10-8 at 37.5 weeks and when we were at the hospital, a woman had a 8-15 girl. She heard about ds and asked if her baby could be put next to ds so she looked petite! LOL.
When you look in the nursery, it is amazing the size difference.
1. When they are big and they lose 10% of their body weight, don't let anyone scare you into formula if you want to BF. Both of my kids lost ~12 oz and if the baby was 6# that would be a concern, but not with a bigger kid.
2. Don't take off the 0-3 tags. 10# is the average weight for a 3 month old. You just won't be able to use them. Maybe a week if you are lucky, but you will be stretching the onesies to snap the bottom. That goes for diapers too. Don't bother with NB or buy too many 1s right now. I have one box of 1s right now, but if I see sales I now go for 2s.
Good luck!

Thanks for the great advice and heads up! I didn't remove any of the newborn sized clothes tags, but - darn it - I already washed the 0-3's! I'll just change him 9 times a day so he gets to wear them all! I haven't opened the newborn package... I'll do the same with the Size 1's. Thanks!
