Our cat is missing.
We can't find him anywhere in the house.  He's an indoor cat and he must have gotten out somehow last night (the only way is through the front door, but I think I would have seen him try to get out).
He's almost 18 and he has no front claws and only 5 teeth. He can't defend himself. 
I've asked my neighbors if they've seen him and we're going to post flyers, but is there anyone I can call? DH is devastated. He's had him since he was a kitten.

oh know- we we first got our cat - I thouht he was missing- he just found out a way to get into my closet and sleep behind the clothes

Thanks ladies. I feel like I've checked every nook and cranny in the house. He's *afraid* of going outside, so it just doesn't make sense. DH thinks he may have hidden somewhere in the house to die (he hasn't been well) but at this point I can't even imagine where.

Try some treats maybe? I know my cat will come from wherever he is hiding for Temptations.

Thanks again, everyone. I put out some food earlier today, but only a stray cat found it. We've checked the house top to bottom - closets, drawers, washer/dryer  , under tables, in boxes, everywhere. He's gone.
We're just sick over this. We called the shelter, PetSmart (they do adoptions for strays), spoke with our neighbors and put up flyers. I don't want to give up hope, but he's not well to begin with. He takes daily medication. I just pray that he's in someone's care right now. I hope they see the flyer and call us. It's all so surreal. Not at all how DH and I envisioned him "leaving" us. What an awful feeling this is.

If your cat is anything like my indoor cats, he'd be too terrified to go outside. I think your previous post regarding him hiding somewhere in the house might be what's happend....
ETA: I "lost" one of mine recently- she was hiding IN the ceiling of our basement. Apparently she found a way to jump up into the rafters.

No update. We checked the house... again. He's definitely not here. He's old and not able to jump/climb like he used to, so I know he'd have to be in or under something. We've literally checked every inch of the house.
We've checked the snow several times for footprints and nothing. He's wandered off, poor baby. I just hope someone is helping him. He knows NOTHING of the outside world.
I appreciate all of the hugs and advice ladies. Thank you.

I know it sounds strange but did you check by the heat vents or the
furnace?
