Our first big project: 1/2 bath pics

The vanity & light fixture are in. Just waiting on the potty (on order) & mirror (I have to pick one -- didn't like the one that came with the vanity) and then he'll install those plus the TP holder and towel bar. Chat Icon I love it so far. It's our 1/2 bath (powder room) on the main floor off the kitchen/dining room. We ripped it apart when we had the floors refinished before moving in. Chat Icon Both DH & I wanted something kinda formal. The only thing I'm not happy with is the molding on the bottom. It's too light. Not sure what we're gonna do about that. Chat Icon

More pics in my album. But here are a few:

You can't really see it, but there are little dark brown glass chips in the ends/tops/base of the light fixture. I should have taken a pic before we hung it. Maybe I'll try to take a close-up later.

What do you think? I was a little nervous about going with the formal vanity. I know it won't be everyone's taste & I watch "my house is worth what?" too much so I'm always thinking about resale value -- even though we plan on staying here for a long time. Chat Icon

Very nice! Love the paint color too, which one did you end up going with?

Are you getting a white/cream toilet? I'd paint the moulding white or cream to match the sink/toilet. Or you can stain it darker to match the door frame.

Looks beautiful!!! I have a formal powder room too! I don't care - I love it! Your vanity is beautiful!!!

The moulding - I guess it's already poly'd? If it's gonna drive you crazy, I would just get glossy paint that matches the other moulding color.... You won't even know the diff. It's baseboard moulding, you know?

I took the Behr 'Primavera' chip to the BM store and they matched it. It's very close to BM 'Weekend Getaway.' I was just going to buy that, but the guy wanted to match what I had. I think it's exactly what I had in mind. Originally I wanted darker/olive green, but I'm happy with this (i think.) We're getting a "biscuit" toilet to match the sink. If we do the molding white then I think we have to do the door white too, no?

Not at all.

White moulding with a stained door looks fine.

Yes, it's poly'd. DH noticed it was too light last night. We should have done something about it then. I like the painting idea. I hadn't thought of that. I also like th pic you posted with the white molding. hmmm...maybe we'll live with it awhile & see what we think.

love it. very pretty! love the color. I have BM weekend getaway and love it. Chat Icon I thought it looked close to weekend getaway. In the pics I think the molding looks nice a lighter color, but if your not happy with it, either restain or paint it white. Either way, beautiful job. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
