Our meeting went well yesterday!

We worked through NY Metro and with the Sachem school district. She will be attending DDI in Ronkokoma for preschool. They felt with all the OT, PT, and Speech she would be getting that pulling her out of a regular 2 1/2 hour preschool she would be missing out on the classroom. so she will go to a 4 hour preschool at DDI. Im so excited and happy that everything went so good. NY Metro and the women at Sachem Special Ed were wonderful to work with and answered all our crazy questions.

DS will be in the same school. He attends there now, but will start in a new class in Sept. We're also in sachem.

DS is turning 3 in Sept. He's been there since December. Right now he is in the starting early program and gets speech. He has done extremely well. He had only about 20 words when he started and now has about 50. He seems to be happy there. He doesn't fight to get on the bus and looks forward to when his teacher comes to the house for SEIT.(same classroom teacher). The room he is in now is more laid back though. In September he will be in a 10:1:2 room.
Overall I would say he likes it and it is helping him tremendously. One thing I will say is that I don't get as much detail about his day as I would sometimes like. But that is probably my fault. I don't always know how to ask.
