Our "mini" progress!!!
Sometimes I get emotional when DS does things that others with "typical" children take for granted.
I almost cried today.
I have been working on clapping with the hands for a while now. He still did not do it on his own. He would do his own version when prompted by my holding his wrists.
Today in his ABA class he clapped twice independently. I actually only saw the 1st clap. The one that was the "1st one" ever. I got chocked off a bit. I was able to make him do it again tonight.
He also NEVER pointed before. We actually only started working on it with ABA about 1.5 weeks ago. He still cannot do it when he asks for something but now he can independently do it by himself when presented with choices (books or ball/ or which book to choose among other books). It's so cute to see his little finger showing me what he wants when I ask him which book he wants.
So much progress in such short time!
I am so proud of him.

That's fantastic! It is an emotional thing! I remember the first time my brother said "ball." His speech teacher burst into tears. It's great that your son is making progress!

sophie - for progress like that to happen that quickly shows you how much potential Ethan has!
Be prepared to be shocked, amazed, and overjoyed on a daily basis...
I am going to post my favorite Youtube video that will make you cry. I show it in my ABA trainings and even the men cry!
