Our new puppy (Ivy)
Has kennel cough and a parasite. Wil be on meds for three weeks.. Poor girl. Ive been up since 4am with her - she was coughing so much and I felt so bad so I took her out of the crate and just sat with her.
I get to work and tell my coworkers how bad I feel about how sick she is .. Heres the response:
"you think thats bad - when you have kids you'll see how bad you'll feel watching them be sick"
UMM Im sorry - but THESE ARE MY KIDS .. A$$HOLE.

 On the CF board one parent said she finds it harder to take care of her dogs than her kids! Unfortunately a dog can't tell you what's wrong like a kid can.
Don't worry though- that's pretty common in shelter dogs. Hope she's feeling better soon!

 for you & your puppy...my two rescues had kennel cough bad...sometimes it helps to take them into the bathroom, close the door & turn the shower on hot to create steam...then you cup your hands and gently pat them on their sides to help expectorate them...ignore the stupid kid comments

Oh my God! How rude! Pets are like kids. My goodness, my parents treat my two little dogs as if they were their grandchildren. When my dogs are sick I feel so bad for them and it breaks my heart. I would do whatever I could for them as if they were my children. Im sorry that you had to go through that. and I hope your baby feels better soon

I hear ya. What a dumb comment. To some of us our dogs are OUR kids. And yes, I do have a human child too so I KNOW what I am talking about.
i am sorry your pup is ill but she will get better soon! Just keep up the good work.
