Our newest addition
We adopted our new girl from the Town of Oyster Bay Shetlet after finding her on Petfinders.com. Here's Savana and we love her! She is about 1 year old. She is VERY timid though and has not made a peep yet. She is doing great with our DC, who is 7 1/2 months old.

I applaud you for adopting from a shelter. You not only saved her life you saved the life of another because cage space opened up.

I can tell by the photo it was taken at shelter..she is wearing loop leash and you must have been completing paperwork.

Yes, it is. We took tons of video and pics this weekend, but need to upload them still. We had to wait a week to get her as she needed to go to the vet for shots. We were not happy at all with the vet as they put her under and opened her up to find out she was already spayed. Which they had told us at the shelter, so it seemed totally unnecessary.
We always planned on adopting - we both had in the past. But, this board really educated me on puppy mills, and I try to pass that info on whenever I can. Thanks all!

If you had paperwork stating she was spayed vet should not have put her under anesthesia, this is the first time I heard of a vet doing this. I would notify shelter so that can address with vet, doubt you are the only one.
Shaving abdomen will often produce the scar from surgery. Did he charge you for the anesthesia?
