We can't put wood because our HOA doesn't allow it. The aluminum that looks like wrought iron was $7,000.

WTH did we buy a house with a nice big backyard for our DD if we can't FENCE it!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Vent over.

PS-If anyone in the NC area knows of a CHEAP fencing guy, please FM me. Chat Icon

Re: Our PVC fence quote was....

Your HOA doesn't allow wood fencing? that is strange!

I think PVC in general is pretty expensive down here, our last PVC quote was $7,000 and my yard isn't that big.

Can't give you any rec's...DH is going to put up our fence himself b/c its cheaper.
plus the last guy we hired to do our fence, ran off with our $Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Yeah it sucks that you are in NC. While things are generally cheaper down south, stuff like this I can see being more expensive since there is less competition between contractors.

Re: Our PVC fence quote was....

I don't know about NC but here on LI it's MUCH cheaper to get quotes off season. My fence was $11-12K in the summer. We waiting for late Winter/Early Spring and it cost us thousands less.

It's about right! We had over 300ft and we did it for $8400 off season. But that was in NY so you should be a bit cheaper in NC. Labor is cheaper.

ETA. I know it may sound bad but they will "overcharge" you since you are a "Yankee" so..... negociate!!!!!!

Yup - this definitely happens. I am upstate and there are only a few people who do stamped concrete up here. Therefore, it's $$$$!

We are also looking to install PVC this fall, and I am so nervous to get quotes!!!

Re: Our PVC fence quote was....

I know that my dh's boss charges about 200 for each 8 foot section. In the off season he usually charges a bit less. It also depends which pvc you picked. some styles are more expensive than others
