Our very first Disney trip with 6 mth old and 3.5 yr old
Hello!!! Okay so my hubby and I haven't been to disney in over twenty years and we have only been there once. We are looking to plan our families big first trip for Nov 2012! My baby will be six month and my DD will be three and a half. Has anyone ever travelled with a 6 month to disney before? Do you think its okay? Any advice would be appreciated. Im so excited and I have no idea where to begin. There are so many hotels, places to go and eat......

we went in sept and my son was turning 2 the following month and the baby was 6 months.
it wasn't too bad at all. my best recommendation is get a hotel close to a park - we stayed at bay lake towers and it was great not folding up the stroller to get on the buses. we took the monorail or walked to magic kingdom.
take breaks during the day - go back to the resort enjoy the pools, let the kids relax!
also if you are formula feeding you can ship formula and diapers to your resort and they will hold it for you.
have a great time!

There are a lot of threads if you do some searches with some excellent tips on here.
I recommend checking out - The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World 2012. It is a great book with TONS of very helpful and honest reviews. They also have a website as well that will give you crowd controls, touring plans etc.
I also like - mousesavers.com this is a great place to start because it breaks down packages versus booking separately and gives you all your options. She also give codes for rental car companies and tells you where to find them if that is something that you are interested in. She has info for on site and off site discounts and codes.
MOUSESAVERS.COM
I find Allearsnet.com is another very helpful site. It gives you lists of rehabs and closures so you don't get down there and find that your favorite ride is closed. I also like that they have every single menu for all counter service, table service, and cart in WDW. This is great for helping you choose a restaurant OR come up with a budget to see if the dining plan is for you. They update the menus pretty frequently.
ALLEARSNET.COM
Finally I like Disboards.com. It is a posting board you will find the answers to just about anything you can think of to ask over there. There are tons of families who have traveled with infants on that board and have the best tips!

Hi, Kristin!
We have clients with little ones visit Walt Disney World all the time. With good planning towards making your trip as easy as possible, it's a great age for little ones to experience the magic.
You want to stay close to the parks, have reasonable expectations of what you'd get done each day, respect their schedule when you're putting together your daily itinerary, and definitely plan to go back to your resort for nap/swim/rest in the afternoon.

Re: Our very first Disney trip with 6 mth old and 3.5 yr old
I think November is a great time to go. The crowds and heat won't be so bad. Those are two major factors.
I agree, if you can swing it, try to stay on a Monorail resort. You won't have to fold the stroller to get to MK and EPCOT.
Our "home" is Bay Lake Tower. It's on the monoral (part of the Contemporary), but it's also an 8 minute walk to Magic Kingdom. You can't beat that with kids.
I would definitely consider renting DVC points to stay at BLT. You can get a 1, 2 or 3 BR Villa that will hold 5-8 people, will have several bathrooms, kitchen.,washer and dryer in room, PNP, etc. Very comfortable. Also, the short walk from MK makes it very easy to take naps, change clothes, etc.
If you can, try to get it togther by March since in April you'd be competing with all DVC Members for the rooms. If you can hook up with a BLT owner now, you'll have a better chance of getting the room you want.
ETA I read "big" trip at firsy but then I saw it's just 4 people.
You should look at a Studio or a 1BR. In a studio you'll have a queen bed and a queen pullout, plus a PNP, but you'll only have a kitchenette, not a full kitchen, and you can use communal W/D but won't have one in your room. A 1BR is obviously much nicer, but costs about twice as much.
