out of curiosity...do you all ever feel slighted by the LIF community?
There's an "adult holiday GTG" that's only mentioned on the parenting board. The owners of the site host a mom and daughter party etc.
I just wondered. I've noticed that the site isn't particularly male friendly but I sort of expected that.

Not really. I haven't been a member for long, but I don't see it bothering me. I mean, it's a free forum. They can do whatever they want...it's not like I'm paying a membership fee, and if for some reason I don't like what's going on around here, I can leave and not be out anything.
They have plenty of giveaways that are open to everyone..
ETA: As far as the OP's question about the "adults only" G2G that's on the parenting board - I don't mind that it's only on there. We've been discussing a possible G2G on here and haven't mentioned it elsewhere...it just has to do with common interests/lifestyles. I don't want to hear about/see pictures of other people's kids, much like they probably don't want to hear about drunken fiascos that my friends and I have.

I hope you don't mind me posting here.
I definately feel on the fringes sometimes(besides the fact I live in So Cal) I am a divorced mom , who worked FT to support my kids and myself & my lifestyle, but said kids are now grown!
I used to think NFR was my board!
I am not CF technically but I'm alone.
IRL I don't get invited to many things my friends do with their married, attached friends like dinners, movies, etc because I don't have a SO.
I don't get invited to many things that are for thrown by the married or SOed and their kids stuff.
It blows!!!! I feel in limbo in a way. Of course I'm not shy, so I am never just home pouting on my couch!
Enough of my ramblings! Just another perspective of how someone can feel left out and get the rude questions that people feel they can ask!

I think it would be nice if LIF sponsored an adult oriented get together instead if just kid/play date type stuff but I don't lose sleep over it. The same thing for some of the vendor contests. There are quite a few that are geared only towards people with kids that could easily include all members.
Board specific gtgs don't bother me in the least.

To be honest, I've never really given it a thought. So, no, I guess I'm not bothered by it.
Would I go to one of those big GTGs? More than likely not. I never went to the LIW yearly GTGs. I just have no desire to. I'm friends with a few posters IRL and I'm happy with that. As someone said, there is some grumbling of a CF GTG - I'd consider going to that but it would really depend on where it's being held and who was going.
As for the male friendliness, I think that's more of a supply and demand like issue. There aren't that many of you posting here, I think if there were you'd have a different perspective.
It would be like me posting on a car aficionados board - more than likely I wouldn't be in the majority, therefore not heard as readily.
Though I think here, your opinions are pretty readily accepted.

I don't really feel left out, because I am not much of a joiner anyway & wouldn't go, but I saw that party announcement & thought it was odd that it was posted on the parenting board but called "an adult Holiday party."
There are other adults here who would like to go to a Holiday party.
I think that one was user-created though & I know that they just meant it as a "leave the kids with a sitter" thing for the people they "know" from parenting. they do lots of GTGs with their kids, so this was just to differentiate, but the way the thread was titled looked weird.
There have been attempts at user created CF gatherings, but 1 was small, and others I don't think came to fruition.
