Out of State Moms - 1st Birthday Dilema

Did you have a party with family or just do something locally?

I'm torn because i don't want to have a big party for DD's 1st but yet I want to celebrate with our family. No one has a house big enough to fit everyone. I'm looking for some alternatives or just not doing something at home.....

We aren't out of state, but we are upstate

Im feeling the same dilema.. I don't want to throw a huge bash for her 1st.. i'd rather wait until she's a little bigger and will enjoy it more. I definitely want to celebrate with family (who are all on LI) so we will probably do a family party at my IL's house. At home, we plan to have a few of our close friends over (with their kids) for cake.

For your space issue: I know people who have rented a fire-house hall or had the party in a private/back room of a restaurant. My cousin had her sons at a cute/casual mexican restaurant.
