Outside birthday party in August?
It's a long way off, but I am thinking of having a BBQ for DDs first birthday. Is it too hot in August? It would start late afternoon, like 4:00 or so.
We live in NC (way to hot for that here), but are thinking of throwing a party at a park in NY where much of our family is, rather than expecting everyone to travel down here (GPs probably still will for her actual birthday).
Thanks!

We will probably being having DD's birthday party outside- and it will be in August too. I don't think it'll be too hot!

Re: Outside birthday party in August?
Make sure you have areas of shade, whether its trees or tents. YOu should be fine. But you need another plan if it rains.

I think it will be fine, especially at 4pm, but I'm not a good one to ask b/c we're having an outside party for DD 4th of July weekend

Re: Outside birthday party in August?
We're planning to have DD's birthday party in our backyard - but, we'll make sure the inside is set-up as well if it's too hot or if it rains.

Re: Outside birthday party in August?
We had DSs Chirstening Aug 4 last year...it was totally sunny and in the high 90s and people were dying!!! We had 2 big tents and 2 huge fans outside and it didn't matter. It didn't start getting "bearable" until about 6pm. That being said, the weather the weekend before that was absolutely gorgeous and would have been perfect. There's no winning...too hot in the summer, possibly too cold in the spring and fall, and it could rain whenever. I say do it, but get some fans and lots of water!!! Maybe a sprinkler for kids to run through too.
