Ovidrel Question
Okay, let's say you're naturally surging and your doctor says take the Ovidrel shot tonight and come back in the morning for an IUI. Now...when do you think you're actually ovulating? LH surge Thursday morning, Ovidrel Thursday night...IUI Friday morning, no collapse, IUI Saturday morning. Could you really not ovulate until Sunday? Sound reasonable at all?
Thanks

Re: Ovidrel Question
Hmm. I think ovulation Saturday at the latest. I'm counting 36 hours from trigger, which was Thursday night...so Saturday morning for O. Or maybe a little bit earlier because of the natural surge, like late Friday night. Sounds like well timed IUIs to me.

What annoyed me about it though, was that they weren't going to let me come Saturday for the second IUI. I had to beg. She said, fine, I'll look to see if the follicle collapsed and if it didn't, you can come back tomorrow. I think people respond differently to Ovidrel just as they respond differently to anything else. Just annoyed me that I had to ask, ya know?

That would annoy me too. I mean, what's the big deal to them if you come back in for a second one?
And I agree that everyone is different with Ovidrel and everything else. Like I'm fairly certain that I O in less than 36 hours...more like 30 I think because I'm pretty sure I feel it. No one can predict exactly what your body is going to do - its just an average.
They should respect what you want to do, its not like you're doing something against the doctor's advice, KWIM? Like its not going to hurt anything to do a second one even if you miss O by a few hours!
Good luck

Re: Ovidrel Question
That's basically what I said. She said she wouldn't do a third IUI, and during the second IUI she didn't do a scan to see if the follicle collapsed, which annoyed me. She said that sometimes it looks like the follicle didn't collapse, but its really some kind of cyst or something.
I just don't understand why they care? They're there anyway...they're getting paid for it...what's the problem?

I said exactly the same thing to Lauren. What do they care?
