Ovulating/Negative Beta???
At what point after your beta is negative do you ovulate? i want to try and map out my cycles...
i stopped bleeding on thursday... and i feel like i might be Oing soon... I had the beginning of EWCM... i dont want to waste my OPK's right now to double check... but i want to try and figure when i will get AF...
i carry stuff around with me just in case

theres no way to know that or plan it out.
some people go back to having their normal cycle length, some dont. you might as well use OPKs if you suspect anything cause there is absolutely no way to guess or predict it.

i was just figuring i would O then get AF... i read a few things online about it and some say you dont even need a negative beta to O... but that doesnt make sense either... oh well
also... can i use tampons now? or should i still use pads when AF does come?

you know.. i'm not sure about tampons in your situation. You didn't have a procedure like a DNC and with that you shouldn't use tampons due to risk of infection. But in your case, you had the shot so I think you might be OK to use them. If anything... i hate to say check with your doctor, because YOUR doctor is not at all my favorite.
You can't try though for like 3 cycles, right? If that's the case... I would just take the time off and not try to think about this aspect of trying. I wouldn't waste opk's either.. because you can't try anyway, so what good is knowing when you O? KWIM? Unless you are fearful you aren't going to O for some reason. I would just sit back, take it easy and let your body do it's thing without any stressing over anything.

I agree with the above advice. It might even make you feel bad to know that you are ovulating and not be able to do anything about it!

i was doing it now more to keep track of when AF might show up... and i also have read that the shot can have negative side effects as far as oing in concerned... so i wanted to make sure that i was oing to begin with... idk...
after this wednesday i am going to call my SIL's doc and make an appointment for early January to do blood work and make sure all is ok...

my body didn't start gearing up to O until my beta dropped to neg. i am pretty sure i did O this first cycle after the shot and bleed but i didn't confirm it with temp/OPK or anything, just EWCM. although, if you are done bleeding and your beta is dropping quickly, i don't see why your body might not start gearing up now to O. have you kept track of O in the past? what methods?
did the dr specifically say no tampons? my dr never mentioned that to me.

gotcha! i have no idea either!
def start using the OPKs when you start noticing it and then you can pinpoint O. i am hoping my cycle bounces back pretty quick. these 3 months can't go fast enough!

Oh... OK I don't know to much about the shot... so if you think there could be an effect with Oing... then I would def test to see if I am Oing.
I think you should be OK with tampons... From what I understand there's a risk of increased infection because of the surgical procedure that was done... like a DNC or a DNE. In which case they say you can't use a tampon for about 3 months... or wear thongs.
Besides that fact that I had some strange things going on after my DNC that I was soooo sore and couldn't even fathom using anything like a tampon bc of the pain. I think you should be OK with a tampon.... you aren't at an increased risk of infection.
And YAY for calling your sister in law's doctor!!! I like that idea!!!
