Ovulating on day 9??
I was wondering if anyone else her ovulates around day 9 usually? I cant tell you how long my cycles are since they are all screwy but since being on Metformin, I got one period and it seems as if I ovulated on day 9 (I used the opk that gives you a smiley face if your ovulating). Isnt that very early to ovulate? I always thought it was supposed to be around day 13 or 14. Do you think its just because my cycles are irregular?

I'm not an expert, but I believe a woman can ovulate at any point during her cycle. The majority ovulate in a mid point but not eveyone. So, it's definitely possible.

Re: Ovulating on day 9??
It is very possible that you could have ovulation on CD9, Noreen.
Since you were not ovulating on your own (prior to starting on your medication), you really dont have any idea what your "normal" cycle length is. But I know of a few ladies who have short cycles, say 24 or 26 days, that do ovulate as early as CD 9, 10, etc.. so its definitely a possibility.
The thing is, from cycle to cycle your ovulation date might keep changing until your body gets used to the meds and you start seeing a pattern. With me (on my own) I would always ovulate LATE, closer to CD19 or 20.. but the cycle before I got PG I ovulated on CD13.. so you just never know..
GOOD LUCK !

Re: Ovulating on day 9??
I have ovulated cd 10.....
If you got the smiley face, on an opk...that would mean that your LH is surging. Ovulation is probably going to occur in the next day or two, if you don't have pcos. If you do have pcos, LH surges aren't always an indication of O. When you have pcos, the LH is off in your system many times.
Follies grow at the rate of 1 mm to 2mm a day. A good size follie is usually 20-25 mm. 16 mm is too small/weak to be fertilized, 28 mm is usually to mature to be fertilized.
