Ovulation Question
I know some people say they get positive OPKs and do not actually ovulate or that the positive OPK does not coincide with ovulation per their dr. but if you get a positive OPK and then get your period 14 days later does that mean you most likely or definitely ovulated when the OPK said you did?

Re: Ovulation Question
I think it's pretty safe to say that if you do get your period within 14 days of a postitive OPK then you did ovulate *around* the time you got your positive OPK. I think that a positive OPK means you're likely to O within 24-48 hours. If you're using OPKs and having well-timed BD to coincide and you don't get pregnant within about 3-4 months, then you might want to consult your doctor. I don't use OPKs, but I temp and the book TCOYF suggests the same time frame if you know you're having intercourse around the right time of the month and have no luck within 3-4 months. In those cases, it could be down to Male Factor infertility

Re: Ovulation Question
Also the 14 day luteal phase is a general rule but not always the case. Mine is 17 days like clockwork each month.

Re: Ovulation Question
Yep - good point! I have a 28-day cycle, but don't ovulate until CD18 and I only have a 10-day LP!
