Oy the books my stepdaughter reads...
My 10 year old stepdaughter just began middle school - she's in the 5th grade (She's turning 11 in January)
This is the book she is reading: "How I Survived Middle School: The New Girl"
And here is what the book says on the back:

Joyce Kilmer Middle School is holding a fund-raising carnival, and Jenny and her rival Addie make a bet that each girl will raise more money than the other. Will she join Addie's groups, the Pops, or will she help Jenny and her firends? Someone's going to be wearing bunny slippers to homeroom. Will it be Jenny?

at least she is reading something
I read some pretty silly books when I was that age- but my Mom was always happy I wanted to read a book with chapters

Sad thing is, people DO wear pajamas like regular clothes - a style I never took to.

ITA. I teach in a high school and I can not believe how the kids leaves their houses...

I read all of those Babysitter club books at that age! Be happy she is reading

I am happy she is reading, but they are pretty funny, you have to admit - and oh my GOD - I lived in pajamas my enitre HS and college years!
