pain in my arm- what dr./specialist do I go to?
I have had this terrible pain running through my arm on and off for a week or so. For some reason it seems to really bother me at night and I have a hard time getting to sleep. tried advil, etc..., doesn't help at all. I thought maybe it's something to do with being on the computer often (carpel tunnel?) but it runs from my right hand all the way up my arm and is the worst in my shoulder. well anyway, I'm not sure if I should go to my regular doctor or go straight to a specialist (I'm sure that's what my dr. would tell me to do anyway) I don't know what specialist I would be looking for though 
??

does it feel like a pinched nerve? (b/c i dont think tylenol/advil help with those)
i would definitely go to your GP first to see what he says- if youre not satisfied with what he says/does, then go see a specialist. but he may be able to tell you if its muscular, etc...
do you sleep on your arm? or with it above your head? that could have something to do it also.

not sure about it feeling like a pinched nerve... DH thinks it's nerve related....I have it right now- it's a constant ache and wierd how it gets so bad at night!

I would guess a pinched nerve, too.
See your Primary MD - she/he may send you to a neurologist or an orthopedist, depending on what she feels the problem is.

I would also see your primary first and then see what he/she recommends. Hope that you feel better!!!

I would think an orthopedist...maybe you should start with your regular Dr
