Paint Color for the Ceiling

We have started our kitchen renovation and the contractor said I should paint the ceiling before he installs the cabinets. My question is do I have to get ceiling paint or can I get Behr Ultra (paint and primer together)? I know ceiling paint is a flat finish or do I need eggshell, etc.

Second, since my cabinets are cream do I paint my ceiling white?

You can paint it what ever color you want. I personally like a flat paint for the ceiling with eggshell on the walls. As for color, the choice is yours. What color are you painting the walls? I use a basic ceiling white but sometimes a color in a shade lighter than the walls looks good too.

Ceiling paint is a bit thicker, so it doesn't splatter as much when you're rolling it overhead. If you don't care about some splatter (especially if the cabinets aren't in), use whatever paint you like.
