Paint for the bathroom
We are going to re-paint our bathroom. What paints are good to use in a bathroom (ours is not well ventilated)? Does BM have a special bathroom line?

Re: Paint for the bathroom
FH painted his bathroom a very very light blue (almost like an ice blue) has white and silver fixtures.
I'll ask him what color.

Re: Paint for the bathroom
Behr has a special kitchen and bath finish- and I gotta say-- I hated working with it. We painted one bathroom ourselves-- it was just very thick. I would go with a glossy BM.

for our bathroom we used a paint, can't remember brand but it was for bathroom/basement sort of use. It was mildew resistant. I bought it from home depot. I used it in the bathroom b/c it is horribly vented and no windows. it's been 3 years and held up well, no cracking etc.

Re: Paint for the bathroom
Just be sure to get paint specifically for the bathroom (mildew resistant), or the paint with grow mold spores!

Re: Paint for the bathroom
When we did our bathroom the man at the paint store added a solution to the paint to keep the walls and ceiling from mildewing.
It was right at the front near the register.
Good Luck...Happy Painting!

Re: Paint for the bathroom
We use a BM semi-gloss and just add them to add mildew-resistant....no problems!

Re: Paint for the bathroom
My husband always uses exterior Benjamin Moore for the ceilings and trim detail.

Re: Paint for the bathroom
theres a special plaint from behrs at home depot for bathroom again mildew if your bathroom isnt well ventilated you put that on first its a plain white and then you put the color on we used it for our ceilings and it made a big difference

Re: Paint for the bathroom
Benjamin Moore does have a special kitchen and bath paint. We used it in our bathroom. We also used the mould preventative paint (Kilz), but just on the ceilings. Just a word of warning, we also have a badly ventilated bathroom (it does have a window, but no fan) and we have noticed mould on the BM wall paint, especially in the more humid months, so the special paint doesn't seem to make that much of a difference.
We have to get a fan installed, but we are gutting our bathroom soon and will have it done then.
