Painting Furniture
how long does it take-- and are there any special things you need to do besides sanding it first?
I want to paint Sasha's dresser- which is a light wood now. It was just in her room from when it was a den, and we decided to hold off on getting her new furniture, which I always planned to do when we eventually moved. I actually had it in my room at school a looong time ago-- and i think painting it will be better than buying something new until she can pick stuff out for a new room when she's older. I am not sure when to do it-- since it's heavy-- and I need it right away because her changing pad goes on top, etc.
I also have a little console table I want to paint and a wood framed mirror, but those will be less complicated projects.
OH, and if anyone has a good white paint color for furniture, let me know. I want it just simple white.
this the dresser btw...

Re: Painting Furniture
we are thinking of doing the same thing....I guess we'll hit home depot this weekend and see what they suggest. I know you have to sand the piece to ruff it up...so the primer will stick. Don't know much more than that!
