Painting over wall decals?

In the condo we are buying, the guy who owns it currently has done nothing except but a 5 foot tall steelers decal on the living room wall. One of those fathead things you see advertised on tv.

Anyone ever tried to paint over one? I dont really want the steelers logo in my living room.

Do you thing I'd need to sand it or should a good coat of primer cover all its black and gold glory?

Thanks!

Hah, I didnt realize it was like a peel and stick sort of thing, I thought it was more permanently stuck.

In that case, he may try to take it with him!

If it is peelable you can try to steam it to remove it easy or if not just prime it really good and paint over it. If worse come to worse after painting put a nice picture over it.

I looked at the website and they are supposed to peel right off so they can go to your new house!

And this thing is as tall as I am, no picture could possibly hide it.
