Painting siding?
I keep seeing advertisements for contractors who will paint your siding. Has anyone done this? How are the results? Any idea of the costs involved?

My neighbor had hers painted with plastic - yes, i know it sounds weird, but its guarenteed not to chip, fade, crack etc for 25 years! Of course her 1700sq ft home cost 25k to paint

We got two quotes to re-stain the siding on our house. One was 6500 and the other was 6000 and included powerwashing and restaining the deck and fence. We have cedar siding.
ETA: We haven't done the work yet, so I will let you know.

Yes, DH even offered to help them out on the cheap and they opted otherwise
