Parental Control software?
Does anyone have parental control software? If so...which one do you have? Do you like it? My step-daughter is 10, and I promised her she could have her own email address if she got a good report card...well...she brought home all A's and B's, and now I have to get this set up. DH and I use hotmail for our email and we have IO cable. I want to make sure she doesn't get to things on the internet that she isn't supposed to.

Re: Parental Control software?
I have the Norton Internet Security, and the parental control is pretty good for regular internet stuff, but it does NOT protect them from opening inappropriate e-mails or e-mails with links to inappropriate sites.

Re: Parental Control software?
My girlfriend has Spector Pro for her kids. It has control over email and websites they visit. It also records everyhting that is done online. It takes pictures of the computer screen every couple of seconds. That way even if she is in a chat room with all her friends you can see if anyone joins them who does not belong there.
I also had another friend who caught her husband cheating on her by using this software. She was able to record his whole affair with emails and meeting places. In my opinion it was graet because her ex was a JERK from the beginning. He tried to deny everything and even lied in court but in the end she got EVERYTHING! She had all the proof.

Re: Parental Control software?
I have to look into this very soon. My 3 1/2 year old DS already knows how to double-click, use the wheel button, close out windows when he's done, navigate around websites, etc. Right now, my parental control software is keeping his computer locked with a password, and me sitting next to him on my PC while he surfs right next to me on his own PC. Luckily, the only sites he knows about are pbskids, disney, etc. It won't be long until he knows how to get to Google, and start using that....
