Parents who forget that their older children were ever young.
I'm talking about friends and relatives who have older children who conveniently have no recollection of earlier years and simply think that the way you raise your younger kids makes you a crazy loon.
Examples:
1. "What do you mean you can't come to my dinner party that starts at 8pm? The kids are invited!"
Um....yeah but unlike your kids that go to bed later than you do, my 9 month old daughter actually wants to go to sleep at 7pm. Do you have any idea how hard it is to put her in and out of the car asleep, then set up the pack and play and put her back to sleep (if that happens), then wake her a few hours later to go back in the car to go home and do it again at midnight? Or do you just not care since it's not your problem?
2. "Why are you so stressed chasing your kid around? Relax outside with us and have a drink! Don't worry, your child is inside playing."
Um...yeah, but he is 2. Which means that in 12 seconds when he is tired of playing with whatever, he's going to start wandering around and looking for tables to jump off and quarters to swallow.
I don't have a question really, just venting!

ITA! Worse than those people are people with young kids who do those things bc they are more into their social lives than their child's well being. They try to make you feel like a freak for being a good parent!
