Parents with dogs
What kind of flea control do you use? we used to put a topical on our dog, but it's not safe for the baby to be around. Just looking for options. Thanks in advance.

Re: Parents with dogs
We use Frontline - DH puts it on Scout after DD goes to bed, and the next morning I try to keep her from petting him. Not that I can, but so far so good!

Re: Parents with dogs
We also use Frontline. My DD is 7 months old and doesn't pet the dog so it's not an issue yet.

Frontline. She gets it put on when she is being groomed

Frontline. I am allergic to the ingredients in several of the other products. I would not think that it is unsafe after the dog absorbs it. I guess if I was 100% organic, I would not use anything.

Re: Parents with dogs
I still use Frontline on her. Emerson is only 8 months old though and she doesn't really pet and play with her so I figured there is no need to switch yet.

Re: Parents with dogs
I have a flea control mixed in with my heartworm medicine (Scentinel) knock on wood ~ no fleas ever.

Re: Parents with dogs
DS is almost 14 months & is all over my dog, that's why I'm nervous. Maybe I'll speak to the vet.

This is what we do, it also helps that my dog is big so when he pets him its usually not his neck area.

Re: Parents with dogs
We use frontline (for ticks and fleas) and sentinel, but we keep the dog away from the baby for the most part. She's doesnt walk yet though so it isn't too hard to do. When she's a little more mobile we may have to think of something else.

Re: Parents with dogs
we use a monthly pill that is the same as her heartworm medicine - its a combo pill - ask your vet but warning it is (we get a discount through a friend...)
ETA its called sentinal - she's been on it for years - no fleas! (she had them before - then we put her on it)
