Park to walk dogs
I'm trying to find a park where I can walk my dogs. Not a dog park where they can run free. I lived in St. Louis for 4 years and all the parks are open to dogs. It was wonderful. I was so upset when I moved back to NY. We live next to the Park in Massapequa Park (south of Bethpage state park) and I hate the fact that I can't go in there with my dogs!!!! So, I'm looking for some place in either Eastern Nassau or Western Suffolk where I can bring my girls. Thanks!

Re: Park to walk dogs
Belmont Park in North Babylon (Exit 38 on the Southern State) is a state park and you are allowed to walk your dogs there...it has a nice loop around the lake in the woods. Other parks where dogs are permitted: Gardiner's Park in Bayshore Blydenburgh in Smithtown Southaven in Yaphank Christopher Morley Park in North Hempstead Hempstead Lake State Park in Hempstead West Hills in Huntington

Argyle Park in Babylon.
It's a very pretty park wrapped around a lake and it's dog friendly. One of my favorite aspects of Babylon.

I believe the reason is dogs can only enter State parks, not County Parks. The girls gave you a nice list, unfortunately, you will have to find the closest one and always go there...
I used to get frustrated about this too, so now I just travel to one that I am allowed to bring my dog into.
