Parking near Prospect Park
On a Saturday morning. What are my best options.
Also, what's the best way there from LI?

Re: Parking near Prospect Park
Probably somewhere along Eastern Parkway, although you may need to walk a bit.

Re: Parking near Prospect Park
you'd be better off parking on one of the side streets between 10th and 15th if you are going to enter the park at the circle, which is the best place to enter.
there IS an entrance on PP southwest, but the main entrance to that side is 15th st. circle (where the F train is)
you may have to go as low as 7th ave and these blocks to find a spot, as someone else said, parking is REALLY bad in my nabe.
have you thought about taking the train? you could take the LIRR to Flatbush and it's just a few miles away, and you have a few options on the trains/buses.
have fun. these runs are awesome.
and if you need any suggestions for post run food, let me know

Re: Parking near Prospect Park
My DH has literally logged 1,000's of miles in this park (and that's no exaggeration)
Since the start and finish are dead center in the park, you can almost park your car anywhere around the park.
In that map, yes, North is up, so in actuality the closest place to find parking would be over by Windsor Terrace which is West of the start/finish line. On a Saturday morning, it's not so bad since there are generally no alternate side rules in effect in that area. You could also try NorthWest of the start in Park Slope and then walk to the park and jog to the start as a warm-up. Lastly, just below PP Lake (inside of the park) is a free parking lot which is for the ice skating rink. They may or may not be letting cars into the park to park there, but that is another option.
As far as getting to PP from LI, on an early Sat morning there should be little traffic, so you could either take the LIE/BQE and get off on Tillary St. then head South from there straight down Flatbush Ave until you hit Grand Army Plaza or alternatively you could take the GCP to the Jackie Robinson and then Eastern Parkway until again, you hit Grand Army Plaza.
Good luck in the race!
