Part time position???
A part time position in a school is usually how many hours and do you still receive benefits?

Depends on the position and the district. In NYC Dept of Ed I think you have to work 3 full days to get benefits.

for other districts, as mentioned, it depends on their contract.

in my district, anything below 5 full days a week is considered part time. For example, I worked a .75 position one year and it was considered part-time. I was given my sick days for the year and step increase and benefits. The only thing I did not get as seniority for that year.
my district offers benefits for .5 and above.
