oh my...
I hate that..I have no problem confronting that.
Most people that do that don't know they are doing it.

Re: passive-aggressive people
You should just be aggressive aggressive and them.
I used to walk away from people like that and be so upset at myslf for not calling them out. Now if I notice it happening I point it out not in a nasty way but just in way that makes it clear that I know what they are doing. Without a situation it is hard to give examples. Even if they were still aggressive I leave the conversation knowing I asserted myself and was not taken advantage of.
Sorry you're dealing with it but it is Friday

No, these people are like brick walls. NO FREAKIN' CLUE they're doing it.
I call them out on it EVERY, SINGLE time. Then they get all passive again.

this is very true.
it's also a matter of perception.
then again, I am sure some situations call for a little passivity, to keep the peace...I think passively calling someone out puts them on notice, but still keeps the peace.
it can work beautifully.
sometimes it's not their intention.

Re: passive-aggressive people
my understanding of passive/agressive is that it's usually done with some malicious intent.
I don't mean murder or anything, but not honest/pure intent.

hmmm...I don't know.
I don't really assume that most people are malicious.
I think that people use it as a way to skirt an issue. to state something without actually pointing a finger...
kinda like this thread, no?
floating it out there...these passive-aggressive people, but not saying the who, the what, the where.
I don't think it's malicious, though I thnk it CAN be.
I usually give people the benefit of the doubt though.

ME too... Just happened to me today actually. It's amusing for me to confront the other person - sort of a game for me. Wait, is that being passive aggressive, or just plain aggressive? lol...

Re: passive-aggressive people
Dealing with them?
I usually either blow them off or am direct with them.
Since I can definitely passive-agressive at times...
it's a better way for me to blow off steam than being direct to some people. If I was direct about some things, I would be way too nasty.

How do I deal with passive aggressive people?
I beat them with a smile on my face while playing Mozart - very soothing.

You should run over them with your Lexus while playing Mozart. That would be fitting.

I have a similar issue with a very close family member. I finally stopped spending time with them long enough to get the message across. It is a work in progress.

Re: passive-aggressive people
They are really difficult to deal with. There's reall no way to break past that wall. I've done a lot of reading...sometimes being passive aggressive is a good adaptation, but when it interferes with relationships then it's bad. There actually used to be a condition (no longer in the DSM) called "Passive Aggressive Personality Disorder"... there's debate about whether it's really a disorder. After living with it, I can tell you that it is!
