Pasta recipes WITHOUT a tomato-based sauce
I need some child-friendly (but not too basic since my DS is a fantastic eater and likes most things) pasta recipes that don't include a tomato-based sauce. I get the feeling that my DS doesn't really like tomato sauce - he eats pasta w/red sauce well some days but not others.
I was going to make him a baked ziti w/ ground turkey but decided not to so it doesn't go to waste if he's really not a fan.
Anyone have any suggestions for other types of pasta dishes? Especially if they include some kind of meat (beef, turkey or chicken).

I don't know if it is too heavy but my kids love homemade fettucine alfredo.

Rigatoni with Ricotta
I dont fully drain the pasta water and mix it with the Ricotta which makes it soupy. i usually mix some peas in (which DS hates but get stuck to the pasta and he ingests some inadvertantly

Tortellini with garlic and oil or some butter and cheese are usually kid pleasers

My nephew is a picky eater and the one pasta dish he will always eat is pasta with some butter and peas.

I'm actually thinking about trying pesto. Sounds yummy with grilled chicken.

I just made this tonight and it was awesome! My 2 yr old DS loved it! I substituted steamed broccoli for the broccoli rabe.

Re: Pasta recipes WITHOUT a tomato-based sauce
I make a very light version of alfredo sauce.
I use 2 tablespoons butter, ,melt it & make a roux. I then add in 1 1/2 cups fat free milk. As it thickens I add about 3/4 cup of grated cheese.
I put this on pasta & add grilled chicken & broccoli ( I would add peas but DH isn;t a fan ). I have also used chicken sausage also.

Re: Pasta recipes WITHOUT a tomato-based sauce
I make this a lot. Or I will make bow tie pasta with broccoli in a garlic sauce.
Homemade mac and cheese is always a big hit here

Re: Pasta recipes WITHOUT a tomato-based sauce
sometimes I will just toss pasta with ICBINButter and some Parmesan. You can throw in some steamed Veggies, Cut up eggplant cutlets, or some chicken sausage
