March 28: Sportscasting Institutes Information Session
Hofstra UCCE will hold a free Sportscasting Institutes Info Session on
Tuesday, March 28, from 6-8 p.m. in the School of Communication,
Dempster Hall. If you know any teenagers (9th through 12th grade)
hoping
to convert fantasy sportscasting into sportscasting reality, then
here's
their chance. If you know an adult who has ever fantasized about
conducting a locker-room interview with the newly crowned Super Bowl
champions? Both teenagers and adults can find out if they have the
"right stuff" to make it as a sports broadcaster.
Taught by well-recognized sports broadcasters and executives, such as
Ed Ingles, Kenny Albert, Joel Blumberg, Mike Breen, John Discepolo,
Barry Landers, CJ Papa and Sam Rosen, this hands-on workshop
emphasizes
the development of skills in television and radio reporting,
anchoring,
play-by-play and
commentative broadcasting techniques.
The Sportscasting Institute for Teens will run July 24-28, 2006. The
Sportscasting Institute for Adults will run July 31-August 5, 2006.
