Pathology report...
from the sac I brought in shows it was "perfectly normal". The nurse just sounded excited about that - to me, that makes it worse I said, well if that's normal, then I have no answers. She said she'll have Hanauer call me tomorrow. I'm so upset - how does telling me in a chipper voice, "it's perfectly normal" help with closure!!

Re: Pathology report...
Maybe she was trying to be positive for you that there is not an ongoing issue with you.
I am sorry you did not get an answer yet

Re: Pathology report...
Honestly, in my opinion, nurses should NOT be allowed to discuss the results. She's just ready a piece of paper - she may have no clue what she's saying.
This same nurse told me: a) when I went to a radiologist to confirm the pregnancy was not viable that they would not be able to tell me the answer there (but they did) b) if the pregnancy was not viable, the doctor would CALL me to discuss options and I shouldn't come in (of course I went in and sat down w/ the doctor) c) when I started miscarrying naturally that I should still go for my scheduled D&C since there is "no way to tell if your miscarriage is complete" ABSOLUTELY FALSE

Re: Pathology report...
I'm so sorry for what you're going through. And I'm sorry you had to speak to the nurse instead of the Dr. The reason she probably sound excited though is b/c there could have been many serious issues that caused the m/c. Maybe knowing that things just happened the way they did, will allow you TTC sooner or whenever you're ready. When I had my m/c, I found out through the pathology results that it was a partial molar and I had to be monitiored for cancer. I then had to wait many many months before even thinking about TTC. Either way, its difficult. I hope that you're doing better.Youre in my thoughts and prayers!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I didn't have a D&C (which is probably why they can't tell me much). I brought in the sac (intact) on 3/27 and they told me about a week. I got results today (they didn't have them yesterday).

Thank you - I didn't think of it that way. And thank you for your kind thoughts. I'm sorry you had to go through that.

It may not help with closure but take it from me, you should find peace in that. I had a D&C and my pathology results showed I had a very risky type of pregnancy referred to as a molar pregnancy that only occurs in 1 in 1500 pregnancies and I needed follow up care. I too considered myself lucky to have had answers and be able to get treatment I needed and also be restricted for 6 months to TTC.
Sweetie, nothing but time and healing will make you feel better or bring you closure. Its been 5 months for me and it's still difficult. Many hugs to you, I am so sorry you had to go through that.

Re: Pathology report...
I was frustrated that it was the nurse who gave me the results of the sac analysis. She wasn't able to answer any follow-up questions I had.
