Paypal User Account - Follow up from the other day
The other day DH received a letter from GE Money Bank saying he was denied for a CC w Paypal cause they couldn't verify his identity. He never applied.
Today we get a letter from Paypal saying they need to verify the account. HE NEVER APPLIED!!
I call Paypal since he is in Myrtle Beach. I speak to someone who finds the account and it has an email addy attached to it that is NOT one of ours. OMG. Whoever did this has his name, addy and phone number. But thankfully not his SSN!!! He is going to call Paypal when he gets off the golf course and we will get the email addy then. What recourse do we have??????

I have no idea, but I would put an alert on your credit report. Did PayPal offer any insight into your rights?

I just put the alerts on both our reports. As for Paypal the guy said its a cyber crime and they are very hard to track. These asssholes are very good at what they do. Lets just hope someone slipped up and they get in trouble!!

hmmm, I saw somewhere about how to try & track the IP address, but I cannot remember where.
At any rate I hope this thwarted the b@$tards from doing any further damage

I hope they can just use the email that this jackass set up to find out who it is. I have fraud alerts. Im not too worried, just more mad than anything else!
