Peanut Butter Question
Brought the baby to the dr. today for her first appt. (She is 10 days old!) She is doing well, but I have a question. He told me to stay away from peanut butter since I am nursing, but I had read that as long as there are no peanut allergies in the family that it is okay to eat it. What did your drs. say about this? It will be a hard thing to give up! TIA.

Re: Peanut Butter Question
My DR. never menioned anything about staying away and I've eaten peanut butter all through my pregnancy and I still do now- and I'm breastfeeding.

Re: Peanut Butter Question
I specifically asked about peanut butter and nuts and this is what I was told. As far as nursing...not really any correlation between that and allergies. However, when you eat nuts in any form, the oils stay in your mouth for up to 3 hours even after brushing. So I was told not to kiss Molly for at least 3 hours after eating nuts or avoid them for awhile.

Re: Peanut Butter Question
I have read the same, as long as you don't have any history of allergies in the family, you can eat it!!!

Re: Peanut Butter Question
I ate it my entire pregnancy and have been since I gave birth. I have been pumping for 9 months and DS is fine.
