Re: Peanutbutter
What? No peanut products?
I was told that peanut butter was a good way to get protein.

Re: Peanutbutter
Moms to be can eat peanuts...I live on them some times. You are not supposed to give them the babies until they are a certain age in case they are allergic (not sure exactly the age).

Really only if you have peanut allergies in your family, then there is a possibility the baby could be allergic to it. I eat it several times a week and have for the last few months.

Re: Peanutbutter
I eat it a few times a week. My dr. said its only if there are allergies in the family, to not have it. Its a great source of protien and tastes so good.

Re: Peanutbutter
I love peanut butter... I do have a friend whose baby has such severe allergies he cannot be put down. She ate tons of peanut butter pregnant and it is in the family--allergies... (noone has it as bad as the baby) they said could have something to do with why he has it so bad. It kind of makes sense...its like a #1 allergy and the fetus is still getting exposed to it . I ate it with two prior pregnancies===this pregnancy I am only eating it like 1x a month...

Re: Peanutbutter
yes and enjoy it!!!!!
Its a source of protien!!!!
ONLY if you or your DH's immediate family or yourselves have a peanut allergy- ANY like tree nuts, peanut butter then absolutely not dont eat it even when breastfeeding.
Otherwise if no allergies eat it up!!!!

Re: Peanutbutter
Hi Moms, I ate a pb&j sandwich for lunch everyday for my entire pregnancy. I also craved peanut m&m's. Two years later, DD is peanut allergic. This allergy does not run on my side or my husbands. I occasionally have a sandwich if she is asleep or not at home. I really miss it. When I do become pg with #2, I don't know what I will eat!!!!

Re: Peanutbutter
i was just told to stay away from it during pregnancy because I had a childhood allergy to it. I don't think you need to stay away from it if you have never had an allergic reaction.
