Pediatric Dentist? First Visit? What Age?
What age does a child start going to the dentist?
I was referred to a great pediatric dentist - just not sure when to start taking him. He is currently 15 months old. I was going to ask the ped's opinion at our next visit.
At around 15 months, for those who are or have been there, what dental routines do you do with your child?
We have this toddler brush and toothpaste - we try to brush daily but it is so hard because he is like WHAT is happening?! LOL. He has six teeth, currently. So it is more like scrubbing the gums and tongue.
Looking for shared experiences :)

Re: Pediatric Dentist? First Visit? What Age?
Pediatricians usually suggest around 3, Dentists will say 1.
I brought DD1 at 4, DD2 at 2 (due to an injury) and DD3 (who is the same age as your DS) will be going when I go back with the other 2 early next year- she has most of her teeth already.
ETA: I wipe her teeth down with a wet cloth when I put her pjs on and in the morning I just put a dab of toothpaste on a brush and let her chew on it.

When I went to the dentist last I brought my son so he could watch. I put him on my lap to see if he'd open his mouth for the dentist and he wouldn't. He was around 20 months old. So maybe we'll try again at 3 years old.

Pediatric Dentist? First Visit? What Age?
We took DS just after 2 years old. Not so much because I was concerned about his teeth more just to get him used to going to the dentist. He just went for his 2nd visit and HE LOVES IT!!!

Pediatric Dentist? First Visit? What Age?
I took DD at 16 months for an injury and then a month later for a cleaning. They told me to brush twice a day and that was about it. At the actual visit she sat on my lap while they brushed and counted her teeth while showering her with presents. She loved it of course. At 2.5 we haven't been back again but I plan to take her before she turns 3.

Pediatric Dentist? First Visit? What Age?
Dd1 at 3 which was suggested by my ped. Dd2 at 18 months. I got roped into it lol. We were there for dd1 and the hygienist kept asking me if I wanted the dentist to check her too is they had time. I couldn't exactly say no but she freaked out and I would never do it that young. I have an spot for March for them and she will be 2 so I guess I'll have to torture her lol. Dd1 loves it. But she's 4 1/2 now

I took my son at 1 years old as he had a lot of teeth. They did a cleaning and suggested my son brush his teeth everyday.

Re: Pediatric Dentist? First Visit? What Age?
Both boys at around 2 years old and has been going every 6 - 9 months since. I'm never good at going exactly 6 months, but they haven't had any issues so Dentist isn't concerned. Gets a cleaning and checkup.
