Pediatrician help......Holistic MDs?
I will have the hospital's pediatrician in the OR with me, but once I get out & about I will have my own pediatrician. I had a lot of great referrals on here for Peds, but I really wanted to get a less traditional Dr and a more Holistic or integrated practice for my baby. I googled, but I cannot find a resource or names of Holistic Pediatricians on LI. (Mostly in NYC) Although I don't mind traveling to NYC, I will not be able to for some time after my c-section & really want to build a relationship with the Ped from the beginning.
Does anyone know of a Holistic Pediatrician on LI, or any resource that can help me find one?
TIA

I was looking into this too. In the end I have decided to go with a D.O. - Doctor of Osteopathics. They have a more holistic approach than MDs but also give immunizations and medication when needed.
You can find a good explanation here:
What is a DO?
There is also a Holistic Moms Group that meets in Oyster Bay once a month (thanks for the info dm24angel!). Here is their web site:

I am sure if you go to one of their meetings you can get referrals on this.
If you are interested in a DO, the Ped. I met with seems great - he is in East Meadow. Let me know if you want his info.

I'm considering looking for a D.O., too. I already have a good lead for someone who isn't a D.O. but we'll see. I need one in Western Suffolk, though. I think that's the way to go. They can prescribe what an M.D. prescribes, too.
