Pediatrician Recommendations - West Islip
Can you recommend one in West Islip? Also, when and how do I get set-up with one? I keep being told I need to have one before delivery.

He is right on Main St a couple blocks from Good Sam.
There are two other doc there beside him but they are all great. I'm not sure how you actually set one up. I gave his info to the nurse before I delivered.

George Pediatrics on Higbie lane - 376-6000. They are absolutely fantastic. Dr. George, Dr. Bonafede and Dr. Van Cura are all attentive and not 'prescription crazy'. They remember you when you come in. The office is clean and the front desk is friendly. And they have Saturday appointments - which is a huge plus. Dr. George has permissions at both Good Sam and Southside.
I used to be with Grello - and while I love the doctors there - I found that the front desk was sometimes a bit rude (but mostly because they were SOOOO busy!)
ETA: You can set up a prenatal interview with Dr. George to make sure he is someone that you want to work with. If you don't have a pediatrician listed when you deliver, they will just assign the ped on duty to tend to your peanut until he/she is discharged.

Thanks - funny, I literally live around the block from there if it's the buidling I'm thinking of!! My SIL LOVES Grello, but said the same thing about the office staff.

Dr. George and Dr. Bonafede used to be part of the Grello practice! I followed Dr. George when he left!

Us too, but we mostly see Dr. Lambert but we love all the Dr's.....Noah was int he hospital at 5 months old for RVS and they were FANTASTIC!
They use Dr. Grello and Dr. George when they are not on call and they too are 100% on the money!

Thanks ladies - I'm going to check out Grello, George & the drs at Suffolk Pediatrics. I'm glad you recommended them because I have one person who recommended each of the three, but I wanted more feedback. So this makes things much easier!!
