pelvic pressure?? UPDATED
I will be 24 weeks along on Thurs. I am noticing a pressure down very low in my pelvis and almost into my vaginal area, especially when I stand up. is this normal? when I feel my belly, I feel it very soft up top and hard very low as if the baby is laying extremely low. I will call the dr in the morning but didnt think I should bother him at home tonight. has anyone experienced this pressure? is it normal? what about carrying so low? thaks for your input, Dawn
ETA up until now I have only felt movement a few times and since this pressure came on I feel a lot of movement, cant help but wonder if something is wrong?
update: today I called the dr in the morning and he said to be safe he wanted me to go to the labor room in the hospital. they found out that I am not dilated but am having contractions! they have put me on bedrest for 5 days so we shall see. prayers please! :(

Re: pelvic pressure??
I think it's normal. I've had that pressure/pain through most of my pregnancy. Especially after standing up after sitting for a while.
eta: Don't worry about the movement! That's great that you are feeling the baby move a lot more. As you get further along you'll keep feeling the baby more and more. Also, everybody carries differently. Some people low, some high, some wide. And I think the top of the uterus reaches around the belly button at 20 weeks. So most of your baby is still down pretty low anyway. I know it's hard not to worry about every little thing, but I'm sure everything is fine!

Re: pelvic pressure??
yup, I get that. I think you feel more pressure down there when the baby's head down - at this stage they're flipping all over...
(I'm also 24 weeks on Thursday )

Re: pelvic pressure??
Definitely normal. Specially after you are sitting or standing for a long period of time...you feel a lot of pressure. I am at 33 wks and the pressure has gotten worse.

Lots of prayers
The same happened to me, my belly was getting hard wayyy to much, went to L&D and I was contracting, but thank goodness no change in my cervix. I was told I have an irritable uterus.
I am now on partial bedrest with meds, and believe me they are almost non existent. I get a couple a day that's it, instead of like 6-8 an hour.
Listen to the dr and rest, drink lots of fluid, and let DH do everything.
FM me if you need to talk, I am here all day!! The computer (and phone) is my only lifeline to the outside world after 1pm
Take care of yourself and that little one.

Re: pelvic pressure?? UPDATED
thank you girls for your hugs. This is so nerve wracking. It is way too early to be hearing the world contractions from ym dr :( Hopefully being on bedrest the next few days will help. Luckily, there is no change in my cirvix an I am not dialated at all as of now. Dawn
