People that are on Clomid
Well I think I am coming to the end of my time on Clomid-
Had an ectopic in June then started Clomid again in Oct(was on it for about 4 months last winter)-did not get PG. Trying once more this month with increased dosage of 100 mg with a clomid challenge test tomorrow.
2 Questions:
Does anyone notice their sex drive increase with clomid? I have sex dreams all the time when I take it!
Second-has anyone done injectibles with a natural cycle? I did well on Clomid producing 2-4 decently sized follies on 50 mg. After this month I think that is the way I am headed. Does anyone know what injectible would be good for someone in my situation? TIA!

Re: People that are on Clomid
I did clomid with iui. I also responded well on the clomid creating 2 good follies each time. the doctor said that injectibles are the next step after clomid, but someone who responds well on the clomid might want to stay on it rather than moving on. I just finished one cycle on injectibles, I was on a low dose, and again I produced 2 good follies. right now the clomid and injectibles have given me the same outcome when it comes to follicles. I happen to prefer the injectibles, it is a lot more monitoring, but I just feel better over all.
If you respond well to the clomid I will assume you will respond well to the injectibles. One drawback of the injectibles is there is always a chance of overstimming. I'm sure your doctor will start you low and monitor and increase accordingly. good luck!
ETA I know someone who did 7 rounds of clomind and iui and finallay got a BFP on #7. they didn't want to move on to injectibles because they didn't want to put extra hormones in their body. It is a personal decision. I was ready to move on and it sounds like you might also be.

Re: People that are on Clomid
I was on Clomid for 8 cycles with no luck --- I NEVER ovulated. When my insurance changed, I went directly to injectibles, but my Dr's view was that I would respond well to the injectibles, so we should try to produce many eggs (he was afraid I would produce too many and then there would be a huge risk of a lot of multiples, so the cycle would have to be crashed). So, we went to injectibles, but not for a natural cycle. Instead we went to IVF. It did not work the first time, but we had 5 that survived well and were frozen. We did a FET in July and it worked!
Best wishes to you! Hang in there.

Re: People that are on Clomid
When I did the injectibles I got cysts on my ovaries and would have to skp a month each time which really ended up frustrating me. I hated losing a month no matter what the reason. But it was my decision to stay on clomid since I produced the same amount of follies with clomid as with the injections.
I hope this is successful for you

Re: People that are on Clomid
I did not respond to Clomid at all, so I had no choice but to move on to injectibles. Our original plan was to do a few natural cycles before trying IUI since we do not have a male factor, but at the last minute this past month we decided to do one IUI.
Like jmmk, I felt a million times better on injectibles than on Clomid. Since you respond so well to Clomid they should have you on a super low dose.
Good luck

Re: People that are on Clomid
I don't take Clomid but DH does...he has been on it for the past 7 months...
To answer your question 1, the answer is yes...he has the same effect his sex drive is just crazy and he tells me that he has these "nice" dreams....
I guess it works the same in men & women...

Re: People that are on Clomid
I shoulod be clearer. I am on Clomid to increase my progesterone which has always been low..I also had an ectopic in June in which I lost a tube. So in addition I am on it to help me ovulate form teh left where I still ahve a tube. However this is my 5th or 6th month on Clomid and 6 is the recommended stopping point..I was considering injectibles to increase the # of follies before i go to IVF. I get pregnant easily buit can not keepo a pregnancy. Thanks for all your feedback!
